ProGolf of America inc. History:
In 1962, a group of golf enthusiasts in Detroit,
Michigan opened the first Pro Golf Discount Store — a store dedicated to offering the best golf equipment
and accessories at a low price. Business was slow at first, but as golf’s popularity rose with newcomers
Jack Nicklaus and Arnold Palmer, Pro Golf’s sales began to rise. By mid-1975,
Pro Golf decided to try its hand at franchising.
Today, Pro Golf has more than 135 retail stores in over 30 states and several countries.
With over 40 years of experience, Pro Golf of America is the oldest, as well as the largest golf retailer in the world.
Pro Golf inc. also manufactures its own private label merchandise and works with other manufacturers to design
products exclusively for Pro Golf.
Pro Golf has been named the #1 Franchisor in the Golf Stores category by Entrepreneur magazine 10 times in the last
14 years.
